We stand in front of a brand new year, but I still can’t help looking back
remembering 2010. A year that certainly treated us well!
Here is the Gleska 2010 in retrospect:
January and February were the months we stayed at home, took long wintery walks
with the dogs and relaxed in front of the fireplace.
In March we went to Malmö international show for Gleska Goody Two Shoes‘ official show debute.
Only nine months old she showed her true colours by ending 3rd best bitch, winning her
very first CC at her very first show.
March was also the month when Gleska Goody-Goody came home, and then she really came home!
In April we went to two shows. We did good – but not great!
May was the month for the big Swedish-Norwegian lagotto celebration. So we gathered with many lagotto friends and had
a great time! Goody Two Shoes and Oh Goody took care of 1st and 2nd place in junior class both days. “Mocca” was placed in best bitch both
days and we especially cherish her winning 2nd best bitch and BIS junior under Gilberto Grandi, who also chose the Gleska group for Best Breeder.
In the end of May Goody-Goody made her very first appearance at a show and won both CC and BOB. And that was just the beginning…
June featured the Swedish Winner Show in Avesta and Nattaset Da Vero Bella went home with the Swedish Winner-title. Her father, Swannery Unforgettable, was BOB and BOG! In the lagotto ring “Mocca” was 3rd best bitch at a big entry.
In June we also spent three lovely days at Triple Dog Show and “Viola” won two BOB and CACIB in two shows. “Mocca” was entered for three days and won her class all three days. June was also the month for World Dog Show in Denmark. We stayed at home, but were represented by Gleska Goody-Goody. “Mc” won junior class and was World Junior Winner 2010!
In July “Viola” won another BOB and CACIB. But apart from that, we stayed at home taking it slow.
In August “Mocca” won another CC, and we got visitors from near and far. “Mc” won two CCs and a BOB at Visby show and “Viola” was BOB and 3rd in the group at the same show. Before returning to Holland “Mc” showed her mum she’s not only “a pretty face” – she can find truffles too!
In September our friends followed the smell of truffles and joined us at the annual Truffle Weekend on Gotland. “Mocca” participated in her very first truffle competition and impressed us by winning 2nd best bitch and being graded “eccellente” by Luca Rondinini. At the lagotto open show “Mocca” was best bitch, thus showing what Gleska lagottos are really made of. Oh, and she won another CC too! Sister “Mc” won BIS at
Dutch Lagotto Club Show.
October started off by giving us a European Winner in Gleska Goody-Goody. Otherwise both October and November mostly kept us busy, busy searching truffles. Many people also joined our Truffle Safaris, one of which was Penfold’s chief winemaker Peter Gago, who chose to launch his Bin 389 in our truffle forest. Oh, and “Mocca” won another CC!
In December we were reminded that sometimes you come in 2nd, but we celebrated the end of a nice show year with many friends around the ring. But “Mc” was a group winner in Italy! And during the very last days of 2010 FCI sent Ch Gleska Sweet Spot a belated christmas present, reminding us that our hard-working “Queen of Truffles” is also an international show champion!
